They issued $40 Billion of 3-month T-bills at 0.3% on Wednesday. That's comparable to someone buying a $300,000 house and only paying $900 in interest for the whole year! If you could borrow at those rates, wouldn't you borrow as much as you could? Wait a second ... that rate was only for 3 months. Is the US government getting a low teaser rate with no money down ...
